Hemp milk is great for many reasons but mainly it's nutritional benefits. This milk can be used in your smoothies, cereal, oatmeal, and any recipe that needs milk.

What you'll need:
1/2 cup shelled hemp hearts
1 tablespoon agave
3 medjool pitted dates (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 cups cold spring water

Steps:
1. If using dates, remove pits and add all ingredients into a high power blender. Blend on high for 3 minutes, 1 minute at a time. After each minute, stop the blender and allow contents to settle before restarting the blender. Blend an extra minute if you have a low power blender or particles larger than sand.
2. After the contents are blended, use a cheesecloth to filter solid particles and drain milk into a large bowl.

3. Transfer the hemp milk into a tight sealed container and place in the fridge to cool for at least 1 hour. Enjoy!

Overview:
Hemp is an excellent source of plant protein, fiber, and omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids. It also a good source of iron, zinc, B-vitamins, vitamin E, magnesium, and manganese. Dates are high in fiber, contain phytonutrients, antioxidants, and iron. Always consult with your doctor when medically compromised or taking medications before adding any supplements to your diet. Separation of the milk is a natural process and is expected. Before use, shake well.
